What Are the Facebook Privacy Settings?\n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You must choose a privacy setting whenever you post something to your Facebook profile. These sharing settings will determine who can view and share your posts.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The privacy options are as follows:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Public. <\/span>Anyone on Facebook can see public posts.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Friends.<\/span> Those on your friend list can only see posts set to the \u201cFriends\u201d share option.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Friends Except<\/span>. <\/span>This allows all your friends to see the post, except specific friends you choose to exclude.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Specific Friends<\/span>. <\/span>This option lets you choose certain people to share the post with.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Only Me. <\/span>A post set to \u201cOnly Me\u201d cannot be seen by anyone else, essentially hiding the post<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Custom. <\/span>Using the \u201cCustom\u201d option, you can combine \u201cFriends Except\u201d and \u201cSpecific Friends\u201d to include or exclude friends at will.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

    If you see a post in your newsfeed, but the share button isn\u2019t visible, or you\u2019re unable to share posts with your friends, it means the author of the post has made it private (or it\u2019s in a private Facebook group).\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How to Make Your Facebook Post Shareable\n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    To make an existing post shareable on the Facebook website:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Select the three horizontal dots at the upper-right corner of your post.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

      1. In the drop-down menu, select Edit Audience<\/span>.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

          2. Find the post you want to make shareable.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. Tap the three horizontal dots at the top-right corner of the post.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

                        By making your post public, anyone on Facebook should be able to share your existing or future posts to their timelines or via other apps like Facebook Messenger<\/a>.
